Kunal GuptaShare
Clean Thoroughly: Wash your cast iron cookware, such as cast iron pots and pans, with warm water and a brush to remove any residue.
Dry Completely: Ensure the cast iron skillet, cast iron tawa, or any other piece is fully dried to prevent rusting.
Apply Oil: Rub a thin layer of vegetable oil or melted lard evenly over the entire surface, including the handle of the cast iron dosa tawa or skillet.
Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Bake: Place the cookware upside down in the oven. This includes cast iron baking pans or skillet pans. Bake for one hour to allow the oil to bond with the iron.
Cool: Let the cookware cool in the oven before removing it.
Repeat as Needed: Re-season regularly to keep all your cast iron utensils, including iron tawa for roti and sizzle platter, in top condition.
